What is Trauma?
Individual trauma results from an event, series of events, or set of circumstances experienced by an individual as physically, emotionally harmful or life-threatening with lasting adverse effects on the individual’s functioning and mental, physical, social, emotional, or spiritual well-being. Trauma can also happen in utero. Trauma can change the brain and how individuals process situations.

Parenting children who have experienced trauma isn’t easy. It requires some understanding of how trauma effects the brain, strategies to support the child and effective discipline as well as a strong support system for the parents. You’re invited to join us the 2nd Saturday of each month from 10 am – 11 am with other families who are parenting children with trauma and Becky Marquez, LPC who is a trauma-based counselor and TBRI practitioner.

Second Tuesday of the month
This group is for parents/caregives of children with trauma.
